Sudanese Embassy in Nairobi: Sudan Will Not Bow to Terrorism

The Sudanese Embassy in Nairobi held a press briefing on Wednesday, condemning atrocities committed by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia across Sudan.

Acting Chargé d’Affaires, Ambassador Mohamed Osman Okkasha, accused the RSF of committing genocide and war crimes in El-Fashir and other parts of Darfur, Khartoum, Gezira, and Sennar States. He said the militia besieged El-Fashir for nearly two years, blocking essential supplies and launching indiscriminate attacks with artillery and drones.

Following the Sudanese Armed Forces’ withdrawal, Okkasha said, the RSF executed civilians, carried out mass killings and sexual assaults, and targeted hospitals and families. He referred to UN and regional reports that documented what he called “ethnic cleansing and crimes against humanity.”

Okkasha accused the United Arab Emirates of arming the RSF, citing UN Report S/2024/65 and Sudan’s official complaint to the UN Security Council. He warned that the RSF now operates as a transnational terrorist network funded through illegal trade and mercenary operations.

The envoy called on the UN, African Union, and global partners to sanction RSF leaders, stop arms shipments, and formally designate the group as a terrorist organization. He declared, “Silence is complicity. Sudan will not bow to terrorism. Justice will prevail.”

The press conference included a documentary showing footage of massacres and ethnic cleansing by the militia.
