Sudan Records Five-Year High in Gold Output with 70 Tons Produced in 2025

Sudan’s gold sector has recorded its strongest performance in five years, with production reaching 70 tons in 2025, surpassing the annual target by 13%. The milestone was announced by the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company during a board meeting chaired by the Minister of Minerals, where the company reviewed its performance for the year.

According to the approved 2025 report, the company also posted impressive financial results, generating revenues of 1.087 trillion Sudanese pounds. This figure represents 132% of the projected target, reflecting strong growth in both production efficiency and market returns.

Minister of Minerals and Board Chairman Nour Al-Daem Taha praised the results but urged continued momentum in 2026. He emphasized the importance of intensifying efforts next year and called for the inclusion of major national projects in the upcoming plan to further strengthen and modernize Sudan’s mining industry.

Meanwhile, Director General Mohamed Tahir Omar reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting the national economy, crediting staff dedication and coordination with partners for the success achieved. The meeting also outlined the 2026 strategy, which focuses on full digitization of operations, improved governance, tighter oversight, environmental awareness in mining regions, and positioning Sudan’s mining sector as an attractive hub for large-scale investment.
