Sudan’s Prime Minister, Dr. Kamil Idris, has reiterated the depth of ties between Sudan and Saudi Arabia, stressing Khartoum’s commitment to expanding cooperation with the Kingdom across multiple sectors in a way that benefits both nations.
Speaking after a meeting held Tuesday in Port Sudan, Saudi Ambassador to Sudan Ali bin Hassan Jaafar said discussions focused on strengthening bilateral relations and advancing joint cooperation frameworks between the two countries.
He noted a shared understanding on the importance of boosting economic and development cooperation, highlighting plans and ongoing coordination in key priority areas. The talks also covered humanitarian assistance delivered through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, alongside several upcoming projects in the electricity sector.
In addition, Ambassador Jaafar said he updated the Prime Minister on recent developments in Yemen, with particular emphasis on the evolving situation in the country’s southern regions.
