Sudan’s Ambassador to Turkey, Nader Youssef Al-Tayeb, met with Nail Yildirim, General Manager of MTA International Mining A.Ş, to discuss the future of cooperation in the minerals sector. The meeting highlighted renewed interest in strengthening Sudanese-Turkish partnerships in mining and exploration.
Both sides reviewed the company’s previous work in Sudan through its subsidiary, MTA Company Limited – Sudan, which had carried out exploration in several mineral-rich blocks before activities were suspended due to the security situation caused by the war.
Yildirim confirmed the company’s strong intention to resume operations during the next phase, with a special focus on Red Sea State. He explained that the return would follow a gradual and structured approach, either by revitalizing previously explored sites or by pursuing new opportunities that meet economic and technical requirements.
Ambassador Al-Tayeb welcomed the company’s readiness to come back, stressing Sudan’s commitment to encouraging Turkish investment. He described the mining sector as one of the main pillars of economic cooperation between Sudan and Turkey and reaffirmed support for companies willing to reinvest in the country.
