Dr. Salma Abdeljabbar Al-Mubarak, Member of the Sovereignty Council, emphasized Sudan’s commitment to facilitating humanitarian operations and removing obstacles hindering international and regional relief organizations. Meeting with a delegation from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Port Sudan, she commended the organization’s role in delivering aid and called for stronger cooperation to ensure relief reaches all parts of Sudan.
Following the meeting, ICRC Head of Mission Daniel O’Malley stressed the importance of joint efforts and coordination to enhance the effectiveness of humanitarian work. He highlighted the need for greater humanitarian space and support for Sudanese voluntary organizations, describing the discussions with the Sovereignty Council member as constructive and encouraging.
